In the present DTE curriculum, “Challenges in Indian education policy” is one of the core subjects.
It makes the student teachers aware of the contextual realities in which they have to work. This subject takes into account rights as well as duties of citizens, human rights education, values and their broad features, perspectives of educational, social, economic and political development in the country and the significant land marks in the process of development in various fields.
It helps the student teachers understand various other issues like developmental activities, urbanization, unemployment, value inculcation, political dynamics and the role of International Organisation in the promotion of education in India.
